Amazon EU Titles and Bullets: Constraints Beats Creativity
Character limits, backend search terms, and marketplace norms that decide whether a localized listing ranks or gets ignored.

Amazon localization fails quietly. Your listing is live, images are fine, and traffic still does not move because the title fights the wrong keywords or the bullets open with brand mythology instead of the buyer’s first objection.
Each marketplace has informal rules that operators learn the hard way: front-load the primary search term, keep titles scannable on mobile, and treat bullets as answers, not poems. French and German buyers also differ in how much technical detail they expect above the fold.
Backend search terms are a separate craft. Translating your US backend string word-for-word often wastes bytes on synonyms Amazon already associates — or worse, on terms that conflict with category policies.
A workable process is to localize title and bullets with market intent first, then generate a constrained search-term set from the same brief. Do not let five freelancers invent five brand voices for the same ASIN family.
